Far from the clamor of the more famous and therefore frequented places in the French, Swiss or Dolomite Alps lies a little paradise for us cyclists. The Aosta Valley is, as its name suggests, a long valley along the Dora River.
Cycling can be as easy, like skirting the river and enjoying the view of the many castles, or as challenging as climbing the Matterhorn (on the Italian side). But the Aosta Valley is also known for incredible dirt roads and some of the most famous bike parks such as La Thuile or Pila.
This region offers real gems for us cyclists, but also great hospitality and friendly people. Italy-Cycling has been active since 2020 with an office and a bike center with a selection of the best Canyon bikes. This is an opportunity to discover a new place that will fascinate you with its world-famous mountains.
Check out the Valle d'Aosta destination page if you want to ride on an itinerary or get a more complete overview of cycling in Valle d'Aosta!
There are a bunch of amazing climbs that are close to our bike center in Chatillon. Some of them are Giro d'Italia category. Some names?
Col de Joux, Col du Saint-Pantaleon, Cervinia, Pila, Champorcher, Gran
San Bernardo and Cogne (end of a Giro stage in 2022).
Other superb climbs easily reachable are Colle San Carlo, Colle del Piccolo San Bernardo, Colle del Nivolet, Oropa and Pian del Lupo.
There's really a wide choice for gravel riding. Our staff have designed many amazing loops with different difficulty level, and they're most off road with very little asphalt, and therefore with little traffic involved.
You can choose a different loop every day of your stay.
From easy to very hard rides: that's your choice.
Valle d'Aosta features an outstanding environment of mountain bikers. But that's not all: this region has the most famous bike parks in the Country. Some of them have been race courses for Enduro world series or UCI Downhill championship.
Among them, a special mention for Cervinia, with view of the Matterhorn, Pila and La Thuile.
We also offer a bike shuttle service to the bike parks for our rental customers.
...we provide you with tracks and suggestions to let you enjoy your rides at best.
We deliver the bikes whithin 120km from our HQ in Chatillon for an additional fee.
We arrange guided rides to explore our region with an expert local guide, English and French speaking. They're - upon request - for small groups or individuals. And they're fun!
